About Us

GICD

Greenland Initiatives and Community Development (GICD) is a Non-Governmental organization with registration No. NGO/R/0252 since 2019 in Tanzania, East Africa. The Organization focuses on Promoting conservation and sustainable management of the environment for strengthening Community Livelihoods. We support and promote social and economic initiatives for local community development. GICD works closely with the local community, government authorities and other partners in order to conserve the environment and have a sustainable utilization of the available environmental resources for the present and future generation. The GICD is composed by professional graduates and technicians from various field related to Environment, Forestry, Water resources, Beekeeping and Community Development.

  • To ensure sustainable biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management.
  • To support and promote social and economic development initiatives for local community development.
  • To carry out capacity building and interdisciplinary research to promote sustainable utilization of ecosystem services and community livelihood.

  • To conduct biodiversity and ecosystem assessments and audit
