Emmanuel W. Komba is an Environmental and Natural Resources Economist obtained his Bachelor degree of Science in Forestry and Nature Conservation in 2008 and Master’s degree in Environmental and Natural Resources Economics in 2016 at Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. He began working in Forestry and related fields soon after completing the first degree in 2008 where he started working as Incharge of Forest Stewardship Council program at Tanga Forest Ltd,
a Subsidiary Company of Green Resources Tanzania and finally in 2009 he joined with Tanzania Forest Service Agency as a Forest Officer.
For almost Ten years consecutively working experience in Forestry, Community development projects, Environmental and Natural resources conservation, Mr. Emmanuel W. Komba has shown a tremendous
contribution towards his field of professional as he has been participating in various projects such as;
Tiransia is the Deputy Executive Director with Extensive experience in Community health projects, especially in Water and Sanitation, Nutrition, Health Education and Promotion. She holds Master of Philosophy Degree in International Community Health, University of Oslo, Norway and Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health Sciences, University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She has strong organizational and technical skills, particularly in quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation using qualitative and quantitative approach
Makungu brings in the organization extensive experience in the field of Programs designing and management, didactics, teaching and learning, program assessments and curriculum theories. He holds a bachelor and master’s degree in educational science from University of Dar es Salaam as well as a Master of Science in Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University.
Beatus holds a BSc Forestry and Nature Conservation from Sokoine University of Agriculture, MSc Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University sponsored by African Commonwealth Sponsorship Commission and Master of Business Administration degree from Open University of Tanzania. With passion in Ecosystem Sustainability and Nature conservation Beatus has worked extensively in Biodiversity conservation and Ecosystem management. Currently he is researching on invasion ecology in natural forest ecosystem for his doctorate degree. Away from work, Beatus likes family business and entrepreneurship, workouts, gardening and green initiatives.
Paulo J. Mandela is working with CESCD as a Manager for Finance and Accounts. He holds wide experience in monitoring natural resources projects using novel remote sensing techniques such as land cover mapping, ground truthing and image processing. He has participated in major projects including mapping of Land use and Land cover of Upper Great Ruaha River Basin in collaboration with Sua and IWMI under Gro Future Project.
Dr Makungu Bulayi serves as Director for Programs at CESCD. He brings in the organization extensive experience in the field of Programs designing and management, didactics, teaching and learning, program assessments and curriculum theories in relation to development programs. He holds a bachelor, master’s degree and PhD in educational science from University of Dar es Salaam as well as a Master of Science in Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University.
Dorah is a trained secondary school and community educator in gender and community development issues, conservation and nature extension, sustainability as well as crosscutting education with over 10 years’ of experience. She has conducted and supervised various local and donor funded conservation, trainings and capacity building small and medium projects. Dorah is a graduate in Master of Science in Education for Sustainability from London South Bank University, Bachelor of Gender and Development, Diploma in Education and various short course trainings.
John Baines is the Projects Advisor at GICD providing strategic support in project design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. John brings to the GICD his extensive experience and professionalism. He is Senior Vice President of the Institution of Environmental Sciences. He has led projects such as Professional Practice for Sustainable Development, been a tutor on the Education for Sustainability Masters programme at London South Bank University for 15 years, provided consultancy and training programmes on Environmental Education and Training for EcoSchools, NGOs, national governments, local government and the private sector. He was Director of the Council for Environmental Education (1978-1988), and has represented the UK government and NGOs at national and international events. He has published over 40 school books and education packs including the most notable Food and Farming book.
As a GICD Global Education Advisor, David has played a part in K-12 independent education for over 40 years,
specifically in the areas of funding, strategic planning and governance. Along with that experience he has a passion for international mindedness and
environmental stewardship. Dave is the senior member of the GCEI team currently collaborating with GICD.
Dave is a founder and board member of
Global Culture Education Initiative (www.gcei.weebly.com), a United States non-profit
whose Mission is “to encourage and facilitate critical awareness of international mindedness and environmental stewardship among K-12 schools, domestically and internationally.”
